How SIBT researches, writes, and publishes content for Canadian homebuyers

Our Standards

SIBT publishes practical property intelligence — flood risk, environmental screening, radon, inspections, and buyer due diligence. Every article should help a reader make a clearer decision before they buy, insure, or renovate a Canadian home.

Research Methodology

  1. Primary sources first. We prioritize government datasets and guidance (e.g. provincial flood mapping, Health Canada radon guidance, municipal assessment notices) over secondary blogs.
  2. Address-level tooling. When a topic benefits from property-specific checks, we point readers to the free SIBT report at sibt.ca rather than inventing address claims.
  3. Editorial review. Articles are reviewed for accuracy, clarity, and overstated claims before approval.
  4. Updates. Guides are revisited when rules, maps, or rebate programs change.

AI Transparency

SIBT uses AI tools to assist research and drafting. All assisted drafts are reviewed, edited, and verified before publication. AI does not replace editorial judgment on safety, legal, or financial claims.
